Deborah was born in the U.K. but spent much of her childhood in Belgium, she returned to England aged 15.
A course with the jeweller Michael Bolton inspired her to enroll at the Sir John Cass school of art, where she trained for four years in art and design specialising in jewellery making.
During that period she also worked "a kind of apprenticeship" with Lesley Craze both in the workshop and gallery.
She is now based in rural north Devon, fitting her jewellery making around her family.
Deborah works primarily in silver, combining simple form with surface texture, often using semi-precious stones and 18ct gold accents for colour.
Each piece is individually handmade, so although designs may be repeated, all are unique.
This timeless jewellery has a certain "rugged" almost primitive feel.
The designs draw on natural shapes and formations and the styles of wildly different periods and cultures.
Attention to comfort and wearability are always foremost.
